Another week in a fashion capital meant more ready-to-wear collections for the year ahead. It is almost a week since it ended and what a way to end the season, with the front row yet again filled with stylish fashion industry insiders, followed by a glam celeb crowd.
As plenty of new and upcoming young designers shook up the streets of Paris, we take a look back at the ferocious finales of yet another fabulous fashion month.
Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear
This collection is one of the most delicate created by Sarah Burton since she became creative director at Alexander McQueen. With coats inspired by admirals and printed floral gowns, there was a definite French feel to the pieces. I love the use of ruffles on many of the flowing dresses, adding a little extra to such a simple but pretty gown made from pristine silk.
Olivier Rousteing’s spring 2016 collection took chic to a whole new level by of course booking the best models to walk his runway. Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner all walked down wearing the collection, with its earthy neutrals and lots and lots of suede. Halter neck tops and jumpsuits were particular highlights from this amazing brand.
Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear
Valentino’s ballerina influenced dresses were a stand out piece for me at Paris Fashion Week. They are made with such soft and flowing material in such simple colours, yet they look elegant and perfect for the runway. More of the collection included long, dark coloured coats, silk and velvet pieces and jersey dresses.
Louis Vuitton’s current creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere always creates a flawless collection for the runway. In Paris, he did not disappoint. Motocross leathers and fit and flare dresses were aplenty, as well as a comfy sweater with leather pants creating one of my favourite looks of the show.
Adriana Lima – Louis Vuitton Dinner
I love Adriana’s layer look coat with the two different kinds of fur. She has gone for a simple look with all black however it is a perfect combination of an LBD with casual boots and with the coat on top, the look is completed.
Alicia Vikander – Louis Vuitton Dinner
Much like Adriana, Alicia went for the more simple approach with black trousers and a plain white top, dressed up with a pair of heels. However it is all about the coat on top again, as her fur shawl makes this outfit. Also the much talked about mini-bag has made an appearance in Alicia’s perfect toned down dinner look.
Irina Shayk – L’Oréal Paris Party
This is one of my favourite after show looks from the whole of fashion month. Irina looks radiant in red with this dress and seen alongside boyfriend Bradley Cooper, she looks perfect.
Her dress, made by Christian Dior, is very similar to one made by Topshop. This plunge front, satin dress is great for a girly silhouette and looks amazing with a simple pair of black or white heels.
Let me know what you think of these looks and I would love to hear your favourites from fashion month ❤
