5 Try Me Trends for 2018 ✨💜

2017 saw a hint of faux fur, sparkles, suits and wide leg trousers making a much needed comeback.

2018 is here and it is time to have that much needed wardrobe clear out of everything you didn’t need in 2017 and definitely don’t need now.

Fresh off the catwalk from pre-fall 2018 Chanel tried to make leg warmers happen once more and Oscar de la Renta presented some very dreamy gowns, so if that is anything to go by it’s going to be a pretty good year in the fashion world.

To get you started, here is the Style Cloud guide to the top trends to watch out for this year…

Red, Red and more Red 💋

Vogue’s Charlotte Sinclair said: “Revolutions are ignited by it, the camera loves it and people go to court over it – no other colour has the extraordinary appeal of red.” The colour is bold, sexy and striking and that is everything a woman should feel going into the new year. Red coats are a particular favourite of mine as they can liven up even the dullest of outfits. Red accessories can be extremely important to an outfit, whether it is red shoes or red lipstick, red is definitely a contender for the colour of 2018.

1. Aina Red Faux Suede Ruffle Strap Heels – In The Style – £34.99
2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice – Boots – £7.49
3. Maddie Collared Fur Coat – Boohoo – £45
4. Red Faux Fur Collar Puffer Jacket – River Island – £65
5. Dune Quilted Bag in Red – ASOS – £60

Faux Fur

Faux fur coats are my favourite thing about winter, and the thought of carrying them over into 2018 is so exciting as they are better than ever. With new colours such as burgundy and even yellow faux fur, this coat has almost become a staple item in many wardrobes. Cropped faux fur coats and gilets are the ones to watch this year.

2. Ampika Brown Faux Fur Cropped Coat – Misspapwas £60 now £54
3. Mustard Premium Faux Fur Coat – Pretty Little Thing – £120
4. Candice Dark Grey Faux Fur Gilet – Misspapwas £50 now £45
5. Kourtney Kardashian x PLT Fuchsia Faux Fur Coat – Pretty Little Thing – was £80 now £40

Paper Bag Waist

The paper bag waist is versatile and great for taking a simple top and creating a jumpsuit look with your outfit. It is also great for testing colours together, as a bold wide leg paper bag waist pair of trousers in a bright red colour can be paired with either a white or a black top. Watch this trend expand further in 2018 with it being seen as part of cigarette pants and suit trousers as well as wide leg.

1. Sarah Ashcroft Nude Flared High Waisted Paperbag Trousers – In The Style – £24.99
2. Navy Paperbag Waist Skinny Trousers – Pretty Little Thing – £15
3. Steph Black Check Paper Bag Trousers – Misspap were £24 now £21
4. Violet Premium Paper Bag Waist Belted Trouser – Boohoo – £20

Sparkle and Shine 💖 A trend that has been around forever is suddenly soaring in popularity. Metallic pants, metallic bags, metallic nails and sparkles everywhere. It is time to shine and wearing sequins and sparkles can make an outfit stand out in seconds. Lover of the sparkle? In all shades and styles, from gold to silver and everything in between, the shops are shining with them all. Missguided are particularly good at everything metallic.

5. Rose Gold Bar Front Foldover Clutch Bag – River Island – £18

Fringing is everywhere in Paris, trimming tops, dresses, jackets and bags on the runway, especially on the numbers from Balmain. Fringe is going to be a major 2018 trend and it can be started so easily. Start by adding a subtle tasseled accessory to your bag or outfit and then make your way up to big statement fringe pieces. Fringed bags are also continuing into the new year, so take note of this famous fashion trend.

1. Fringed Top in Light Pink – Zara – was £19.99 now £12.99
2. White Embroidered Tassel Detail Bodycon Dress – Missguided£45 3. Petite Black Faux Suede Tassel Jacket – Missguided£45

Black Friday: Style Cloud’s Best Deals 🛍

As Black Friday officially begins today, the fight for the best deals has already begun. But with so many on offer, and not all deals worth it, it can be hard to find the best ones for you.

With emails pouring into our inbox’s about different deals, it is almost too much to think about. However, this is also a great opportunity to get some Christmas presents checked off the list. Some websites have a special section dedicated to their Christmas gift offers so make sure you check them out.

That eyeshadow palette you wanted a few months ago, well that might now be half price. There are some crazy offers out there but if you look carefully you can find ones that really will save you some money.

Here on Style Cloud I’ll show you some of the best Black Friday deals and prove to you just how much you can save on your favourite items:

Beauty Bay

Online beauty retailer Beauty Bay is offering up to 30% off all items on their website until Cyber Monday (27th November). With brands such as JeffreeStar Cosmetics, Morphe and ZOEVA, there are plenty to choose from and is a chance for you to get your beauty product essentials.

Having started on Monday, Beauty Bay are currently using a queuing system for their website so make sure you keep checking back to see if your favourite products are still available. See Style Cloud’s top choice below:

Back to Blogging 👩🏽‍💻💗

So I haven’t posted in such a long time. I am now in my third year at university and as some of you may know, it is a lot of hard work 🙈

So there are some things I want to share with you that I have learnt over the past couple of months that may be useful for those of you going through the same experience:

  1. First of all, don’t worry – trust me, I know that this is easier said than done but sometimes what is it that you are really worrying about? Are you worrying about something that may never happen? This can affect not only your moods but your energy levels and the work you are doing will also be knocked as a result. Take some time to think about everything, and think of the positive things to come. Take a deep breath and turn the pressure into something positive. You can do whatever you want to do if you put your mind to it.
  2. Get organised – this is something that I have found is extremely important when you have a busy lifestyle. After a long summer off, it was a shock to the system getting back into doing work everyday at uni, so make sure you write down the things you need to do. Get yourself organised so you share your jobs over a number of days, instead of rushing, as you will feel much calmer and things will seem a lot better. I have found buying myself a diary and writing down the things I need to remember each day is so useful, so then I can flick back through to see the tasks I have not yet completed.
  3. Find the things that make you happy – the key to happiness, according to latest research, is knowing where to look. Family and friends are the most important people in your life, so take time to do things with the people that make you smile 😃. Taking a break is always important, don’t overload yourself until your head feels like it might explode.
  4. Do things you enjoy as well as the required work – work can be boring and time consuming but make time for things that you enjoy too. Whether it is blogging, sports, music or even something as simple as watching funny videos, take time for yourself to wind down and most importantly, always smile.

I hope these things help some of you, as the wisest person in my life, my mum, brought most of these thoughts to my attention. Back to blogging I go, so make sure you come back for some more fashion, lifestyle and beauty news coming soon as Style Cloud gets an update! Here is a cute little video for you all to give some much needed motivation…💃🏽 🐶

Outfit of the Day 💁🏽

As much as I love my thick black hooded coat, after wearing it for days I fancied a change this morning. Luckily the sun is shining bright but it is still freeezzingggg, so my outfit of the day has gone for in between: wrapped up but a little less black (for a change).

In winter, I get into a habit of just wearing black and grey, and as much as I love clothes in both these shades, there are some days that are just made for some colour, and today is definitely one of those days. It may still be cold but it’s Friday, and I wanted to make an effort.

Yes, my jeans are black but it is still winter after all, so these are part of a perfect combination of dark and light shades in this outfit. These are from Dorothy Perkins and have lasted me such a long time. They have impressed me with how little they’ve faded over the time I’ve had them, much less than the ones I previously purchased from Topshop.

My top was a style steal from Primark at just £3!!! It has a suede feel front with a soft material ruffle hem, which makes the top stand out as it is quite a plain pale pink top otherwise. It adds elegance to it and means it can be worn on smart or casual occasions.

My coat is my favourite part of this outfit. As it is not raining today (yet anyway🤞🏼) it is perfect for still wrapping up warm yet adding a bit more colour to my outfit that wouldn’t be there if I wore a black jacket. Although this outfit would look nice with a black leather jacket, this coat is great for staying toasty whilst looking super stylish. This coat was from Primark and is no longer on sale, however it can be easily created with a camel coat (which are particularly on trend at the moment and available in many stores) teamed up with a faux fur stole, which are also available in many places.

My shoes are my comfy pair of loafers that I would wear everyday if I could. They are smart but still look great with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. They are long lasting and a definite investment piece from Topshop.

Here are some related items 💁🏽…(Click the images to find out more!)

Outfit of the Day 💁🏽

Autumn is here. This means dark mornings and ever-changing weather, so if you’re indecisive like me it becomes so hard to decide an outfit each day! Long sleeve or short sleeve? Coat or no coat? It is all about buying versatile pieces that will also last you throughout the winter.

My outfits of the day can be worn in all weather, along with the right shoes, accessories and jackets. In autumn, it is not yet cold enough for big boots and chunky socks, so make the most of wearing your best shoes with your outfit without getting freezing cold toes!

For my first outfit of the day I have taken a simple white t-shirt and teamed it with the best and most shiny jeans I have ever seen! I have always loved Topshop jeans as they have a range of styles to choose from and are super comfy but these are completely different to any I have worn before. Don’t be afraid to wear bright clothes. As they are jeans you can tone them down with a plain top, such as a grey or a white one like me. They are comfy and look great so dare to be different and go for glitter on your jeans!

V-Neck T-Shirt – Zara – £7.99

MOTO Metallic Hayden Jeans – Topshop – £46

Basic Velvet Choker Necklace – ASOS – £5

My second outfit of the day is all part of the Zara TRF collection. The top is in fact a bodysuit, which I love for wearing under a pair of high waist trousers. Bodysuits are great as they can be dressed up with a pair of shorts or a skirt or dressed down with a pair of jeans. These black culottes are a simple piece that can be matched with a variety of tops. This makes them so versatile when it comes to the weather as like bodysuits you can dress them up with a pair of heels or dress them down with a pair trainers and a comfy top.

Shiny Strap Bodysuit – Zara – £12.99

Flowing Cropped Trousers in Dark Navy – Zara – £9.99

Basic Velvet Choker Necklace – ASOS – £5

Outfit of the Day 💁🏽

So I woke up this morning with the sun shining through my curtains and I immediately had a panic. It has been cold for so long that I have continued to buy winter clothes and I suddenly realised that I had no idea what to wear in this warm weather!

First rule for the sunshine is definitely colour. Spend winter wearing as much black and grey as possible but always make sure you have your summer colours prepared for a day like today. Cream is one of my favourite colours to wear in summer and this bargain top from Primark (down to just £3!!!) is perfect for warmer days. Being a light material it is cool and comfortable to wear, with the double layering adding a bit of extra flowing detail.

Being just the beginning of this year’s summer season, I am always afraid to go straight into showing off some flesh. So a pair of blue ripped jeans are perfect as they look great and are a lot cooler than the thick black jeans I have been wearing all winter!

Shoes are a difficult part of a summer outfit. If you are like me and hate wearing anything on your feet when it is warm, it can become an issue when finding a suitable pair and the right colour. A white pair of Birkenstocks are ideal as they are comfy and they go with most colours.

Wearing this outfit today has made me so excited for summer and ready for a much needed shopping spree… ❤
