Shining at the Oscars 🌟

Style Cloud is full of award ceremony fashion at the moment but the outstanding dresses of the Oscars are a definite stand out.

Even with the disastrous mixed up ending with La La Land being wrongly announced as winner of Best Picture, there was plenty of excitement and shining stars that the Oscars always promises. One of those stars in particular was Emma Stone, who won Best Actress for her lead role in La La Land. They may not have won Best Picture in the end but there was no reason for her to feel disappointed as she became the first actress to win an Oscar in a Givenchy dress since Audrey Hepburn (lucky designer I’m wondering?).

The Oscars are the best of the best, the top height of celebrity fashion. This year’s awards did not disappoint as a host of stars took to the red carpet ready to shine at the Oscars. From Naomie Harris wearing one of Raf Simons’ first pieces with Calvin Klein to Emma Stone looking like a real life Oscar herself, there was certainly a magical selection of outfits on display.

Here are some of my favourite looks from the night…💁🏽

Isabelle Huppert

Dress: Armani Privé

Isabelle is often seen wearing trouser suits and smart tailoring to award ceremonies. Her dark lipstick stands out but adds to the elegant look she has gone for with the dress.

Brie Larson

Dress: Oscar de la Renta

Dramatic in a statement black dress, but looks fiery with the red lipstick, which looks great against her pale skin. Ruffled hair brings the look back to earth and shows not much effort is needed for Brie to look good.

Emma Stone

Dress: Givenchy

This gorgeous embellished dress looks old fashioned but perfect on Emma with her red hair and pale skin. She shines in it whilst definitely looking Oscar worthy.

Alicia Vikander

Dress: Louis Vuitton

Alicia Vikander always looks effortless at awards ceremonies, often looking like a real life princess. This elegant black lace number and toned down makeup gives her the perfect natural look that she works best.

Hailee Steinfeld

Dress: Ralph & Russo

Although many have been negative towards Hailee’s choice of gown, I love it. The light material and floral design compliments her and I think this is a great look for the Oscars.

Felicity Jones

Dress: Dior

Plain and simple ballerina look that looks perfect on Felicity.

Naomie Harris

Dress: Calvin Klein

This outfit is flawless and with the small cut out detail, the heart shaped front stands out but also pulls together this all round perfectly toned down look.

Chrissy Teigen

Dress: Zuhair Murad

Whilst being one of the cutest couples in the world with her husband John Legend, Chrissy is ever consistent at awards ceremonies with her sensational dresses. This Zuhair Murad dress looks great with the gold detail on the front adding that bit extra to a flowing dress, along with the thigh split.

Karlie Kloss

Dress: Stella McCartney

Supermodel Karlie Kloss suits this floor-sweeping white dress perfectly. The asymmetric cape detail and the diamond choker add even more to this outfit, but don’t overpower. Her classic Hollywood hairstyle with loose waves ties it all together.

Emma Roberts

Dress: Vintage Armani

This plunging neckline gown with a beaded skirt shows why black and gold work so well together, especially for an awards ceremony. Emma also suits the red hair and lips well.

Brit Awards 2017 🎤✨

Yet another award ceremony has been and gone. The Brit Awards are always a favourite before the upcoming BAFTA’s and the Oscars.

This year’s Brits saw some of the biggest celebs and names in music come together in London with fashion to rival the recent Grammys. With stars such as Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora walking the red carpet, the glitz and the glamour was there from the very beginning, and it was all about to get a whole lot more spectacular!

Ed Sheeran and Stormzy

With enough shock outfits and shock wins to bring the house down (quite literally in Katy Perry’s performance), the night was full of show-stopping performances, including the most unexpected but amazing combination of Ed Sheeran and Stormzy. Beyoncé and Adele won more awards (of course!) and Little Mix took home one of the biggest prizes for their single ‘Shout Out to My Ex’.

After London Fashion Week came to an end on Tuesday, stars pulled out all the stops to become best dressed when the attention shifted to the 02 Arena on Wednesday night. Here are some of my favourite looks from the night…

Golden at the Globes ✨🎞

The Golden Globes 2017 marked the start of the awards season on Sunday and at the 74th annual event, the A-listers did not disappoint with their red carpet looks. The night was presented by The Tonight Show’s host Jimmy Fallon, after previous years have seen Ricky Gervais and comedy double act Tina Fey and Amy Poehler take on the job.

The night was full of surprises and highlights included some ever so dedicated speeches. Ryan Gosling chose to dedicate his acceptance speech to his wife, Eva Mendes, while guest of honour Meryl Streep went in on Donald Trump in a truly fabulous way whilst giving her acceptance speech for the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement.

But the best part of the night is obviously the outfits, choosing the best dressed. The first awards ceremony of the year brought out shiny dresses, flowing dresses, gold and silver, and even some jumpsuits. Here are some of my favourites from the night…

Captured in Cannes: Week One 📸

Cover Photo

Week two of the 69th annual film festival in Cannes has begun and it is time to take a look back at the amazing outfits worn in week one. The overseas occasion always offers major inspiration, with the best dressed stepping out in force.

Upcoming films such as The BFG, Loving and American Honey were featured, with the stars turning out for all. There was no shortage of glamour in the first week of the festival, with some of the chicest red carpet looks of the year. Here are some of my favourites that shone in the French sunshine…

Blake Lively

Blake Lively

With a peering baby bump, Blake has looked glowing in a range of outfits at the festival. From sequin gown’s to a casual day dress and even looking like a real life Cinderella, Blake looked flawless in every item worn. In particular, her red jumpsuit is one of my favourite looks of the year so far. Taking such a simple and easy look but making it amazingly stylish, Blake is a style icon and definitely best dressed in Cannes.

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole

Since her recent divorce, Cheryl has been out of the fashion spotlight and I am so glad to see her back and looking so happy. Walking out with new boyfriend, Liam Payne, in Cannes for the first time as a couple made her glow and look as beautiful as ever. It was all about the patterns with the former X Factor judge as she stepped out in a patterned gown and sequinned stripe jumpsuit.

Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen Kroes

This all black outfit is perfect for Doutzen. The Dutch model and actress went for a sultry halter neck look and refined shape which is just right for the red carpet. The former Victoria’s Secret model’s dress connected a velvet top to a flowing split skirt

Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid

Bella recently won Model of the Year at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion LA Awards and in Cannes she showed us all the reason why. This elegant nude dress matched with her skin tone perfectly, along with her dark locks that tied the whole outfit together. The 19-year-old accessorised the outfit with a silver choker by De Grisogono.

BAFTA TV Awards 2016 📺✨

The British Academy Television Awards rewards the very best in telly over the previous year. Being one of the biggest nights in a television star’s calendar there is guaranteed glitz and glamour throughout and this year did not disappoint.

Held at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick were there to present the first award of the night whilst over in the UK to promote their new animated film, Trolls.

Fellow actor Tom Hiddleston was also there to present the Best Actress award to the very talented Suranne Jones.

But most importantly what was everyone wearing? The stars of the screen were out to impress and they did not let us down. From jumpsuits to gowns and even shirts and skirts, there was plenty of glamour on the red carpet…

Here are some of the best dressed from the night:

Amanda Holden

The Britain’s Got Talent judge wore a beautiful silver embellished dress with a trailing capelet by Tony Ward.

Lucy Mecklenburgh

This belle of the ball had an elegant print detail and train, with subtle hair and make-up showing her natural beauty. She also added a Sylvia Follie Clutch bag to this shimmering outfit.

Laura Whitmore

Although her outfit is simple she looks super stylish. This key hole cut-out jumpsuit with the flared style was perfect for her shape and her hair’s natural waves were perfect for her look.

Tess Daly

Tess Daly

The Strictly presenter looks flawless in this one-shoulder design dress with crossover thigh-high split.

Kara Tointon

This plunging Amanda Wakeley gown is amazing. This silvery outfit was clinched at the waist by a silver ribbon, giving it a real elegant and balletic feel.
